Kiskiminetas River
Locals will tell you this river is the 2nd fastest-flowing river in the world. Of its 27 miles of winding water, the part that passes Leechburg has shaped this town since its very beginnings. Leechburg is home to 3 different bridges that cross over this river, more than most towns.
It’s also a very dangerous river; citizens of the Leechburg Area will tell you to stay away from its fast waters, and they are right. An exposed island sits upriver from the Leechburg bridge.
If you want to get wet, check out The Rivers Edge Canoe & Kayak upstream from Leechburg off of Route 66. They’ll set you up with a canoe and guidance for tackling the Kiski.
